Traveling with kids. I hear it all the time, leave your kids at home they won't remember. Or it's too much of a hassel, take them when their older! To that I say NO THANKS!
I personally love traveling with my kids and making memories. Life is too short to "wait till they are older."
Here are my 5 tips for traveling with kids (by a mom of 2, who started traveling with her son at three months)
Have Fun!
Traveling in general can be stressful and a lot. But the main thing you need to remember is to have fun! When traveling you're most likely doing it to visit family, explore a new place or even visit an old place that holds memories. Nothing in life is "perfect" so take it all in!
PLAN AHEAD!
With trying to do number 1 it's best you plan ahead! I personally like creating a itinerary on canva that has all the details. I am a visual person so I like to create like a week calendar or however long the trip is then add what we will be doing everyday. For example our upcoming trip we are doing a lot of theme parks/activites that will mostly take up the whole day so not as much scheduling needs to be done. Also make sure that whatever you need for each day or outing is already booked!
Here's an example of what I do! www.canva.com (not sponsored, but I personally use canva a lot)

Pack accordingly!
I like to make matching outfits by color when we travel for each day. For example Monday we are wearing purple. So in case of an emergency I know exaclty what everyone is wearing. I've seen the hack of using a hanging shoe rack for kids clothes but I haven't tried it yet. So once I do it on our next trip I will report back! Remember to bring the neccesities for each person! BUT! If you ever forget something there will always be a store that you can buy it from. (most times!)
Bring the travel snackys, toys and ipads!
Whenever we fly I always have the kids favorite snacks in our carry on and extras in the luggage. Based off of what the kids are into at the time that's the type of toys we'll bring. My daughter loves coloring so we'll bring her notebook with colors. My son is into comics so we'll pick up a new one for the plane ride. We allow our kids to download movies, shows, pbs games on their ipad so they can watch and play throughout the flight.
The more you travel the easier it gets!
Our kids had their first flight when they were 3 months old! And since then we've flown interisland numerous times. My son has traveled to the mainland many times and to Japan! Tita on the otherhand we are working on building her travel diaries to catch up with her brother! Traveling can be expensive, but that's why you should always keep an eye out for deals! Even if you can't go on a flying trip every year, getting out and doing activites outside the house can help aid with smoother travel for you and the kids! As a mom who is most definately an introvert, getting out with the kids regularly helps me with my anxiety. In turn for the kids it helps with exposure and gets them excited about trying and experiencing new things.
All in all I'd say take the trip! We really only have so much time with our little ones. It's always a fun time to explore and experience places for the first time together! So next time you second guess that trip, I'm here saying "do it, do it!"
